*Engaging the whole child *Increasing wellness, confidence, readiness-to-learn *Grounding in community
Marni’s Arts-infused Yoga For Children and Youth is a fun way to tap directly into the source for creative energy and joy, using the human body and voice. Singing and dancing are beautiful and complex art forms because the human body is the main instrument. The body is the starting point for connecting to social, emotional and physical health. Yoga is a fun way to make this connection and to pave the way for creative expression through the arts. (Click Here to download the full program description)

Music & Movement for Children/Youth
A holistic approach to music education
Marni's Music and Movement for kids is a fun way to tap directly into the source for creative energy and joy, using the body and voice. Singing and dancing are beautiful and complex art forms because the human body is the main instrument. The body is the starting point for connecting to social, emotional and physical health, and the gateway for creative expression. By clapping, stomping, snapping, slapping and moving, it is possible to make beautiful music, without needing additional instruments. Adding simple percussion instruments embellishes the beautiful sounds and movements we can make with our bodies. Workshops facilitate cooperation, listening, team-building, wellness, recreation and learning. (Click Here to download the full program description)

Musical Media Literacy
Do you wonder how people ever managed to communicate and share culture before the internet, email, facebook, twitter, cell phones, blackberries, computers, texting, television? Children today grow up bombarded with electronic means to communicate, as well as advertising messages that go along with them.
Marni’s Move-N-Music offers a music and movement program that helps students to think critically about the electronic world around them. The program works to build self-esteem and self-confidence by using natural means to create culture and communicate: the human body and voice, as well as simple percussion instruments. During the program, students work on simple rhythms and rap songs that reinforce messages of positive self-image. Students are invited to use their imaginations to create their own lyrics, movement and rhythms. (Click Here to download the full program description)

Ecological Yoga
Have you ever wondered how water can change form from liquid to solid to gas? Do you know how water-loving animals move? Did you know that bees help make fruits and vegetables available to us by pollinating plants and flowers? Marni’s Move-N-Music offers a yoga program the builds ecological concepts, knowledge and understanding in a fun, hands-on way. With lots of eco-yoga games, songs, movement, dance and dramatic play, students develop an embodied sense of their place within the natural world.
Many of the poses, chants, games, stories and activities teach about the animal world, relationships between animals and humans, and seasonal cycles. Cooperative games reinforce concepts of interdependence. When we feel connected with our environment, it is natural to want to take care of it. (Click Here to download the full program description)

A Jewish Approach:
Arts-Infused Yoga Workshops for Children/Youth
Yoga means “union”; union of mind, body and emotions or spirit
What is a Jewish approach to yoga? Jewish ecological and environmental values and ethics are essentially about relationships. Yoga is a very effective tool to help promote a sense of being connected with ourselves, each other, nature. When we feel connected with our environment, it is natural to want to take care of it. Through body postures, dramatic play, movement, drumming, vocalizations and song, Yoga workshops explore Shabbat themes (rest, the miracle of creation) and themes around holiday celebrations (ie. the harvest for Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkot; light and energy conservation for Channukah). Hebrew aleph-bet yoga poses, Shalom chants and Hebrew folk songs are an essential part of Jewish yoga practices. (Click Here to download the full program description)
