Marni's Move-N-Music
Authentic, Integrated, Holistic & TRANSFORMATIVE Arts

Marni's Move-N-Music, offers hands-on, interactive, and inclusive music performances. as well as holistic music and yoga workshops for the purpose of education, recreation/wellness and community-building throughout the Toronto area, Ontario and Quebec.  Authentic, holistic and integrated arts experiences are designed for all ages using combinations of singing, rhythm activities, drumming, dance, movement and yoga.  Recent clients include: Green Acres Day Camp, Phoenix Childcare Centre, Lycee Francaise de Toronto, The Toronto District School Board, The Stephen Leacock Foundation, Moorelands Community Services, Child Development Institute.

Workshops provide a fun way to tap directly into the source for creative energy and joy, using the body and voice.  Singing and dancing are beautiful and complex art forms because the human body is the main instrument. The body is the starting point for connecting to social, emotional and physical health. Yoga is a fun way to make this connection and to pave the way for creative expression through the arts.  Kids imitate animal and nature postures using sound, movement, facial expression and song.

Music is another way to connect.  When taught holistically, music can be a natural extension of a yogic experience.  By clapping, stomping, snapping, slapping, moving and dancing, it is possible to make beautiful music, without needing additional instruments. Adding drums and simple percussion instruments embellishes the beautiful sounds and movements we can make with our bodies.

The educational and recreational workshops inspire children, youth and adults to find their own creative voices within a holistic framework, to develop personal strategies for relaxation, to play, and to work on cooperation, listening and team-work.

Marni's Move-N-Music programs complement established music and recreational programming by adding a holistic approach.  Benefits of learning music in a holistic way include increased self-confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness & expression, awareness of others, ecological awareness, increased capacity for creativity and connection with others, leadership as well as fun!
