Marni Levitt is a Song-Writer, Yoga Teacher and Public School Teacher who is passionate about health and healing for individuals and communities.  Marni has experienced the transformative power of yoga, dance, drumming and singing firsthand.  She is committed to helping children develop lifelong healthy habits through yoga, movement and music. 

For the past 20 years, Marni has been performing original songs for diverse audiences.  For the past 6 years, she has worked with children in public school, instructing Special Education and Music using a holistic and hands-on approach.   Marni has also led and developed extra-curricular programs in West African Drumming and Yoga in school and community settings.

Marni has earned degrees in Education, Radio and Television and Women's Studies.  She is a Sivananda-Trained Yoga Instructor, with additional training in teaching yoga for children, as well as meditation.  Marni's passion for music and teaching are fuelled by ongoing study in West-African/World drumming and dance.

Marni facilitates arts-infused yoga, movement and music workshops for children, for schools, community & faith-based groups and organizations, families, businesses and yoga studios.  Workshops are for children aged 5-8 and 9-12, and for children aged 2-4 with their parents or caregivers.  There are also programs for youth and for children with special needs.  Her educational and recreational workshops focus on fun, experiential, hands-on learning.  They are designed to help increase self-confidence, self-awareness, ecological awareness, self-expression and creativity.  Workshops also help children develop stress-management techniques, wellness habits, skills in collaborative group dynamics and communication.

Workshops are tailored to meet the needs of each group.  Guided relaxation, breathing exercises, chanting, drumming, singing, stretching, balancing, body percussion, animal-shaped body postures, games, stories, props and puppets, make-your-own pose-sequence are examples of elements Marni chooses from in designing each unique program.

Marni brings an engaging, colourful and joyful presence to children.  By leading authentically, she is able to inspire them to find their own creative voice and to take risks.  She honours each child's unique talents, and is an encouraging and intuitive leader. 
 

Her workshops are multi-day or for special events, and priced accordingly.
